If I were doing a basic music system, I wouldn't bother with rear's either. I'm thinking of doing a 5.1 system though, which means rear and center are just as important. The DDX-812 supports 5.1 with rear and center output, so why not. You can then enjoy movies that way, as well as processing for regular music if you like.

Otherwise, I might as well just drop back to a less expensive headunit.
