Default Re: Engine vibration at 1500-1600 rpm?

i have a 2000 tundra and i have checked the alignment of the drive shaft there is a string method explained in the forum. and that helped the next step is to replace the carrier bearing some call it a drive shaft support bearing. when under the truck i found that he rubber boot supporting the bearing is torn and the shaft is allowed to move around a about 1/2 inch in either direction. also there is grease splattered on the floor of the truck.... it is something that you could do if you have a hydraulic press. o'rileys carrys the beraing for 100 bucks or you can have a drive shaft shop do the work for you and have them go ahead and replace the u-joints and balance the drive shafts as a unit. the shop will balance to much tighter tolerance than the assembly line.
i had this done on an old 1985 diesel surburban and the vibrations went away.
this is my chore for this friday am. i will let you know if it took care of my vibration.
at 43 mph and rpm at 1200 or so .
