Default Re: 2006 Avalon Navigation ka-put

Is your Stock Nav screen a Double Din size as in 99% of other Toyotas?

If not, Yu may have a unique size Nav console unique to the Avalon. Yu will have a problem finding an aftermarket one to fit.

Also, does your Nav Touch screen control serve the Audio as well as your climate controls?

Yu may run in to issues with this also. Not sure.

It may be better to just fix what yu have.

Why did yu upgrade the Map DVD in the first place. There aren't any true advantages to upgrading an O6 Map software unless Toyota specifically offers it as a Service bulletin.

It has been stated many times to never ever use the incorrect DVD Map disc for your vehicle. Many have run into similar issues as yours. Most of these Map DVD's ARE model specific. And never ever use a burned Toyota DVD copy of someone elses even if it is for the same vehicle. Also similar issues.

I suggest yu price what it would cost to repair and chalk it up as an expensive lesson.

Good luck.
