i had to replace my tranny in my 2000 tundra for the same reason. if you have access to somebody with a repair shop. see if you can purchase the tranny thru there account. the tranny purcahsed thru my buddy was 1800 new rebuilt in japan from dealer ship.
with a transmission jack we had the tranny out and in, in a matter of an hour 1/2.
that over drive is a weak link in the original trannys and "susposedly" that was addressed in the rebuilt one from toyota. just my 2cents
