If you are in the market for a new truck anyway, a 2.7 5spd is a good combo, but trading just to get better mileage usually does not work out to any advantage. You will get; SWAG, 5-12% better mileage, but spending the gas money on insurance and truck payments. As said above, if you do want a new truck, no reason not to get one that gets better mileage as long as it meets your needs.
Are the gas mileage figures in US gallons, and is the dollar amount in Canadian or US money?
