i use goof off. but make sure you know what your doing with that stuff, please rinse off immmediatly, and than wax .
if you leave any goof off on the paint, it will eat right through your paint/clear coat,etc.
so use it, rinse with soap and water, dry rewash just to make sure you got off all the goof off, than redry, than wax over the area, even if you have to go further than the area you used the goof off on. just to make sure.
also it(goof off) may run down(drip down) , so make sure you get it all off.
otherwise, you will need a paint job.
personally i like chrome on certain vehicles.

some of these doublesided tapes are so strong, it does pull the paint right off. such as you see in someone pictures here.

Thats why I used Goo Gone- it doesnt eat paint or clearcoat.
