My neighbor had an Actron OBDII scanner that he'd lend me. It showed the stored codes. He also had a nice a Snap-On Modus (he wouldn't lend me that one) that did the same thing with more bells and whistles. It youd pull up all the errors and inform you if there was anything else to lok for. The generic readers just give you the code and you have to look it up in a book.
