I had problems finding a gas station on my last trip to the Adirondacks and ended up taking it down all the way to E. As I recall, I was nearly on E before the warning light came on. Less than 10 miles later I refilled and it only took less than 17 gallons. So I had at least 4 gallons of reserve.

BTW, may previous 2 Tacomas and the Tundra had low fuel warning indicators also. Hope that helps.
BTW, check your owner's manual to confirm.
