Excellent info! I thought about getting CAI and based on your input, I think I'll avoid the Volant. I do like extra power, but not noise.
That reminds me of a 1993 Toyota Pickup I once had that I thought would be cool to put on a 4" lift and 33" mud terrains. I really liked that truck before I did that. My gas mileage dropped 30% or more and the truck was a dog. That 22RE 4-cyl just didn't have the power to push those tires. Not to mention how noisy those mud terrains were. I ended up selling the mud terrains, but I didn't have the motivation to remove the lift kit.
