My seat does both. It is a power bucket. Makes a popping sound when stopping or starting. Thought maybe it had something to do with the motor on the seat. It has also just started making a crackling noise when getting out. It sounds like there is plastic under the cloth on the seat, making a crackling noise. I will have to get it looked at.
