Coil packs? I'm not sure that's a good guess at 400 bucks. I would get the ATF chagned, if the torque converters in 3rd and 4th aren't locking, than there's your problem with the milage, and they're slip controlled so the fluid does have an effect on them. Are you sure it wasn't cold when you calculated your mileage? Under about 40 degrees our mileage goes down 2~3 mpg.

you know, now that i think about it, what should the 4cyl RPM's be at with a speed of around 70mph? my v6 tacoma runs at about 2100-2300 RPM's with the cruise set. the HL runs around 3K RPM...too high. maybe the trans would be a cause if OD isn't engaging...

and its hard to calculate mileage when its cold in southern cali. its cold here when its around 70 degrees.
