Makes me wonder if I overpaid for the 05.
Probably. And even if you didn't the value has dropped substantially since december. I was shopping other vehicles in december because the lease was up on my '05 DC. Wasn't sure if I wanted to keep it or not but my buy-out was slightly less than trade-in value so I decided to keep it. I recently looked at trading it in and its lost about $4,000 since December. Gas prices have killed truck/suv values. I know some folks in the car business and they're not able to work any deals when someone is trading truck/suv because they have to give such a low amount for them. They can't even sell them at the auto auctions.

Is your '00 a V6 or V8? A V6 will sell better at the moment. Obviously your price is too high or it would have sold, but it doesn't sound like a terrible deal. There's a nice looking '99 F-150 reg. cab 4X4 for sale on my way to work that's been there for several weeks. No idea on miles but it says $4,500 in the window. A year ago you couldn't buy most ANY decent 4x4 truck for under $5,000. Different story today......
