My FJ40 on the trailer weighs in at 6,200lbs ready to camp. I am very close to the limits, but I am very impressed with the stability stopping power and power to pull in the mountains. Now it aint no 5.7 but it can hold it's own. Your 4runner seems to be a little heavier than my FJ40, which kinda surprises me because 40's are about the same weight as your 4runner stock and have many heavy options including 5 37" IROKS. If I could do it again, I would probably by a Tundra and that would be my advice for you. The biggest reason I didn't was because at the time were I worked had a tight parking garage and I couldn't wait for a new truck.
