Default Tundra MPG's

Yeah, I know! This topic has been beaten to death. Well, let's resurect it and beat it some more.

First, I know I drive a truck and the mileage is not spectacular - I know that. Second, I drive like a little old lady to try to conserve fuel - that gets boring. C) Plugs are new, Oil is new (full Synth), Tires new and properly inflated.

So what gives!!!!!

I filled up this morning and checked my mileage (as usual) and only got 14.9 mpg!! This was with 75% highway and 25% city driving on the tank of gas.

During the winter, with the cold weather, at least a 90 second warm up time and ethanol added to the gas my mileage was about 14.5 mpg city.

Now with spring, warmer weather, no warm up time and no ethanol added to the gas my mileage has creeped up to about 15 mpg.

Wow!!

Is the fuel they sell us at higher prices every week also becoming lower quality every week?

Hey, the oil company execs have to eat too, right!?

I've put on about 12,000 miles on my Tundra in the last 10 months. I bought it with 22,000 miles on it last July (it's an '04 DC... averaged only 7,000 mi./year). At that time I was getting right around 17 mpg city, 18.5 - 19 mpg Hwy.

Man, I truly love this truck. I wash it all the time and keep up with the maintenance like clock work. It's truly hard for me to keep me butt out of the driver's seat and go for a ride. But, my hobby/passion is getting expensive to enjoy.

Ah, screw it - the kids can just have cereal for dinner again tonight.
