Default Re: Any Canadian rebates or better buying from U.S ?

The trick is going to be finding a dealer in the US who is willing to sell to you. If a dealer believes the truck will be titled in Canada, he runs a huge risk. Selling to a person who will title it outside of the country means they will not get any rebate money. They will not get to count it for allocation purposes. Worst of all, if there are any warranty claims that come through TMS, the dealer will be held liable for them.

There are other consequences as well. The above list is only the contractual ones. In reality, it means that the dealer will be on Toyota's radar. Any problems or infractions will be magnified. Dealers do not want to have a strained relation with Toyota.

Its not that US dealers don't want to sell to Candaians. We would LOVE to sell to anybody with the money. We are not however, anxious to get socked with fees and charges from TMS and we really don't want to go to war with the manufacturer.

I've moved dealers again. Hopefully this is the last one. I'm at Rosner Toyota in Fredericksburg VA. Call 540-898-7900 and ask for Steve Clifford... they will not know who "Cliffy" is.
