Re: Paint Detail (By Hand)
Brandon, Thanks for taking the time to respond. I looked all over for Duragloss stuff. None of the stores carry Duragloss in my area, I even tried Parts Plus and NAPA (claimed dealers on the Duragloss website).
I ended up washing with dish soap (figured it didn't matter being that I was cleaning the paint any way. I then used a Mothers Clay Bar kit, following the clay bar with Meguire's Scratch X in a few places (for defect removal), then I used the supplied Mothers cleaner wax (came with clay bar). I topped it off with the Meguire's NXT 2 wax.
I wish I would have been able to get the Duragloss stuff. I would have waited to order the stuff online but I wasn't sure when I would have a full day free again to work on this. I'm interested in you feedback on the steps I took and product I used. Maybe I should order the Duragloss stuff for next time.
I'm actually very impressed with the outcome (if your interested I'll get some pics up). The paint was very rough before even after a regular wax. Now it feels perfectly sooth and looks great. I must admit I'm a novice when it comes to detail work though.
