I keep my cars for 250k to 300k mark, and so far very little motor repairs, yea I do tune-ups and all that stuff also. From the looks of the filter it looks as if it's the same as the 07 Tundra I drive. Any advise I'd be thankfull.

I am similiar to your regimen. I always dump my Factory fill oil at 500 miles. Have done this for over 20 years. Then I start using M1 between 3k-5k miles . I also can easily get 200K+miles as the original owner with no abnormal repairs. Just Factory spec maintenance. No Dealer recomended BS PM's. I decide what PM's should be added to the Factory recomendations depending on the model.

The first 500 miles engine breakin creates the most contaminated oil that my vehicle will ever see. I don't believe in keeping the Factory fill Oil for the first 5K. like the book says. That's rediculous. Any UOA oil test will back this up.

Some have argued that the Factory fill oil is "Special". How special can it be? At 500 Miles it is time to dump it. Period. Ask any Competition Race Engine builder.

If yu understand engine building and Break-In, yu would readily understand this concept.
