A WDH will distribute the tongue weight evenly between your front axle rear axle and the trailer axles. This makes for a much more stable tow.

If you had an 07+ Denali the power output would be very similar, the 5.7 Tundra has much more power than your 04 Denali. Take your trailer to your local dealer and see if they will let you hook it up for a test drive, most will. As for stability and over all towing capability, from what I have read there is no 1/2 ton that compares. Look at the 2008 Motor Trend Truck of The Year comparison, it out pulled the 3/4 tons in all towing tests, including braking with the same trailer attached.
