First of all ... what are you going to use your truck for? Is it a daily driver? A lot of four wheeling? 2WD or 4WD?
My experience with three 4 cylinders ... all 2WD ... daily drivers ..... mulch, plywood, fire wood, etc.
#1 - 1984 5sp m/t with 113,000 miles with no problems
#2 - 1994 a/t with 123,000 miles with no troubles
#3 - currently 2006 a/t with 10,000 miles ... just like off the showroom floor.
