I've pretty much decided to keep the Tundra until the wheels fall off...that's the only thing that really makes any financial sense, since the resale value of gas guzzlers has dropped like a rock and will continue to drop as gas prices continue to rise. I've been experimenting with changing my driving habits, however, and I averaged 18.8 mpg at my last fill up. This was based on about 50% town driving and 50% highway driving. I kept the rpm's below 1500 on accelerating, coasted between traffic lights, kept my highway speeds at about 65 mph and avoided lines of traffic on the freeway where there's a lot of braking and accelerating. It's kind of funny, but I noticed that my freeway trips took only 2 or 3 minutes longer than they would have taken had I tried to maintain 70 or 75. Lots of other folks still shoved their gas guzzlers along at 75 and 80. Hugo Chavez and the Arab sheiks must love those guys...
