Default Re: Peeling paint 2008 RAV 4

Hi All,
This is my first post here and I wish it was a happy one as I love my new 2007 RAV4. The problem, when I returned from vacation 2 weeks ago and was washing the RAV4 of dreaded love bugs, I found not 1, not 2, not 3 but 5 chips of paint out of my hood. I was sick. The chips are right down to the gray primer coat. A trip to the dealership was totally disheartening. "The chips are from road hazards and not Toyota's fault and it certainly isn't inferior paint. I pointed out that my 10 year old Camry paint was perfect except for the driver's side mirror. The hood was flawless, so how could a vehicle 6 month old have chips of paint like that??? A shrug of the shoulders was the answer on this question. Additionally, I was told touch up paint would make it look worse AND if I had it repainted, "The same thing will happen again". My dealerships response, nothing and I mean nothing can be done. I WILL NOT settle for that answer.
I walked through the used car section and found several Toyota's 2006 and older with chipped paint on the hood. Of course Toyota can't admit there's a problem as it would cost major $$$$$$ to fix.
OK everyone, suggestions. I'm just suppose to leave the chips with the primer coat exposed and there is no hope. What will my vehicle look like in a year or 2. And a new paint job wouldn't help? You've got to be kidding me. My vehicle is a 2007, 100% made in Japan, RAV4 V6 Limited. Any input will be greatly appreciated.
