Default Re: Do-It-YourSelf Mod gauge cluster

First off man, you gotta relax. Yeah there's some D/Bs on here that jump people's $hit for something that can't be bought in a store, however, right inside this forum that have replied to you are some people that have some really creative, not store bought, mods.

With that said, you have a good start, you just posted up something that isn't finished yet.

You need to fill out that gap to make it look right. I like where you are going with this because it is like the Gen1 trucks, the guage cluster is tight enough that you could leave it, but the gap between the silver bezel and the guage cluster needs to be capped off.

Find some flexible rubber or plastic in black that you can cut and form around the opening in th bezel that you made and use something like Hi-strength 90 or epoxy to weld it on, then get some touch up paint to finish off the cut edge. Take some time with a fine file and make sure the edge is nice and smooth and there arent any sharp lines.

If you put some more work into this and get it to a true done point or even if you would have asked some opinions like (What should I do to finish this off) I guarantee that you would have had a much better response by this crowd and you would have received some really good ideas that would really make that dash "POP", this way you would really be a contestant in the DIY contest.

So you have a good start, now just follow through and get it to the finished look and you too will appreciate it much more!!!
