Default Re: synthetic oil

I am using mobil one extended performace the 15,000 mile oil in my 06 camry I am now changing it at 5 k due to the warranty as soon as I leave the warranty I will change it at about 12,000 to 15,000 miles always checking the oil level at 5k to make sure it is at the full mark. I ran a 1986 toyota cressida to 429,000 miles using mobil one synthetic oil in the motor, transmission, rear end, and power steering and nothing failed. I am also using the mobil one synthetic transmission fluid in my 2006 camary in the transmission and power steering so far no problems. Starting in 2007 the camry transmission is using a special transmission fluid called world standard which goes 100k according to toyota and can only be replaced by toyota there is no dip stick on the 2007 and later toyota's tranmissions. The recommened transmission fluid for later toyota's 2006 and older is type 4 but I am going to see what happens with full synthetic transmission fluid.
