Re: mileage
I live in southern California, and just completed a two week road trip through the state of New Mexico. I averaged 42.6 MPG on that trip, and on some days I averaged over 46 MPG. This represents 90% highway driving.
My Yaris is a hatchback, automatic, power package, and after logging 4,667 miles on that two week trip, I have today a total of 34,600+ miles on the odometer.
Driving in my normal routine at home, I get 36 MPG city, and 42 MPG highway. If I really try my best I have gotten 47 highway, but that takes a lot of effort.
I run 87 octane, adding 5 oz. of Lucas UCL in each tank full of gas. Over the last 6 months, I have noticed an 8% increase in MPG over not using Lucas OCL. The increase in MPG more then pays for this product. I run Mobile1 0W-20 during fall and winter, and Mobile1 0W-30 during spring and summer months. The car idles silky smooth, and sounds sweet at 6,000 RPM, and not like it's going to blow apart. Since I drive about 50% city and 50% highway, I change my oil every 4,500 miles, using Napa Gold filters or OEM from Toyota, which are excellent.
I use a ScanGaugeII to train myself to drive for the highest MPG. I keep all four tires at 50 PSI, and they're wearing great; It seems I should be able to get at least 45,000 miles on this set, and maybe 50,000.
The car is rock solid, and a joy to drive.
