Default Re: 19.8mpg after HC removed!

No matter how tenderly I drove my Tundra DC SR5 TRD 5.7 I could never get consistently above 13.6 - 13.8 mpg in town. Wasn't too worried about it as it's only got 4700 miles. Figure it needs to loosen-up a bit with some more run time. Besides, it sure beat the 8 or so mpg I had been getting for the last 5 years in my Ford Beast.

But looking for cheap and easy mods, and this one fits the bill, I removed the HC and disconnected the battery for a bit. Touched the neg cable to the positive before hooking it back up. The engine died after the first start so I figured I had the ECU reset. Second start she was ready to go.

Been getting 14.2 to 14.4 around town for the last 2 days. Seems like this mod does something good - even if a small step. My engine is idling lower by 150 to 200 hundred rpms. And I'm damn sure the throttle response is a bit crisper. I have to be very very easy on the throttle now or she just jumps off the line from a dead stop.

Thanks for posting this mod. I like it!
