Re: How many miles on current 4runner?
My '97 SR5 has just turned 247,000. I am the original owner and have done ALL repair work myself. Timing belt and water pump and drive belts replace every 100,000 miles or so. Two power antenna masts, electrical plunger switch on the transmission that the four-wheel drive lever hits to engage the four-wheel drive (@ 135,000) , Front brakes @ 145,000, rear brakes @ 185, 000 , flex plate broke at 230,000. This truck has NEVER had an alignment and has never needed it! MXL-MSs have lasted 130,000 !!!!! I have run Mobil 1 5W-30 since new. I just did a valve job and replaced the valve stem seals, valve guides were good, but am still getting a puff of smoke occasionally on cold starts. Compression was 210 psi in all cylinders prior to the valve job. I intend to go through the evap emissions stuff to see if there might be a vacuum held on the top end? The truck still runs, looks and drives great
