I thought the wiring was already there the ends were just missing (the switch and the wires on the mirror harness). I figured that all I needed to do was to run the missing wires from the kick panel harness to the mirror plug. I was thinking about installing pins into the kick panel harness and the mirror harness. Those wire taps don't have a good history with me.

As far as the heat, I was going to add the heat wires the same way and then just buy the mirror switch that pops into the dash. Probably costs an arm and a leg but it will look totally factory.
