I too had my diff replaced. The diff was making a clunk while accelerating, then another clunk during deceleration, I had to make a big deal about it, cause they said it was probably just the brake calipers were loose, which IMO is not a good option either. But they figured it out and replaced under waranty. I think mine went at about 20,000 miles or so.
