I changed my diff oil at 3000 miles just to get the break in crud out of there. The drainplug magnet only had some "fuzz"on it and one tiny shaving of metal that looked to be left over from Toyota (Dana for that matter) machining the axle tubes. I am saving the original diff oil just in case there would be a problem in the future. My rear differential was dead quiet from day one.
