Toyota must just not buy into the perceived American midset that the diesel engine should be sold at a premium. Just look at the $51 000 MB 320 CDi (it sells at only $1000 over it gas counterpart).

I have the same questions about the diesel truck pricing here . I believe all the domestics got together made gas engines with little power and or ****ty mileage so they could could charge a huge premium for a diesel trucks.
I really can't see how a diesel engine is all that much more money then a double over head cam VVTI and all aluminum engine .
