Default Re: New Toy Hauler - Towing Help

You will have zero problems. I tow a 26' toy hauler. Plenty of power, it's stable and stops really well with the brake controller properly adjusted. I don't have air bags, but do have a weight distributing hitch. Keep the water and trailer fuel tank near empty until you arrive at your destination and fill up when you get there. This saves a lot of weight when towing. Even when the temp is over 100 degrees, the Tundra never heats up. Try to keep the speed at 65 mph or under or your gas mileage will really suck. The toy haulers have a large frontal area which really puts a lot of drag at higher speeds. I've passed another vehicle that pissed me off at 85 mph with no problem. I don't think I'll do it again, but the Tundra really gets up and goes even with a toy hauler taggin along behind.
