P.s how do u like your highlander I love mine?
I love our Highlander, my dad is driving an 08 right now and getting like 27 MPG in econ mode and he doesn't exactly drive with fuel saving in mind. We get about 25-26 with our 06 though. I am really impressed that the newer bigger highlander actually seems to be slightly more fuel efficient. But I don't want to hijack the thread here so enough of that.

I understand where you are coming from, a lot of people that don't have Tacoma's have concern for the SMC bed, all I know is it has held up to one hell of a beating from me so far. I like that it is a bit lighter too, better MPG's because of it I am sure. I am not trying to dish gen 1 Tundra's, they are great trucks in my opinion, I am just saying the Tacoma aint so bad either!
