Yes, and Warrick Brown (Gary Dourdan) got whacked in last season's cliffhanger. But if it is any consolation Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) is supposedly returning sometime around episiode 5.

Check out the movie To Live and Die in L.A. (1985). It stars a much younger William L. Petersen in a role totally unlike Gil Grissom.
