Sinking dash fix w/pics
I know this has been covered before but I have a few pics of the shim I made that seemed to work for me. Seeing that there may be quite a few trucks with this annoying problem, I thought I would post a small DIY on how to fix it.
I cut two blocks of wood (size depends on application) and wrapped them in duct tape. I used two, one near the edge of the passengers side dash and one over about 8". My dash had waves in it so I was trying to smooth it out. You have to take out the lower glove box and some of the side plastic panels to access the upper dash from the inside. You will feel a metal lip underneath the plastic dash and that is where I wedged my shims in to bring up the dash to meet the side pilar. Here are the pics.
Before and after.
