NOLA, I don't think you realize what elevation does to fuel mappings, the lowest elevations I see is almost 2500 feet and that's in the eastern part of the state. Most of my driving is 3400-7000 feet.
It's not the tranny either, it's just mapping that isn't working in my truck, actually both A and B. My stock 08 Crewmax pretty much killed the 07 last night. I'm pulled the chip and the truck actually felt like it had better power again. I'm fairly certain I have a bad map or maybe a bad harness, although I don't know if the truck would even run with a fubar'd harness. I'll be calling Mike today to talk about the bog and lack of power in slower speeds until the truck goes over 4000 rpm and the other issues. I'm guessing I'll send in the unit for a new flash and hopefully all will be well....
Definitely call Unichip and have them look into it. There could be a number of issues that could be causing you problems.
