I think your traction is the problem with your times going DOWN with the chip. I'll bet you are spinning your tires more with the chip and that's why ET and MPH is lower. 4X4 would prove that, but I guess that's not an option for you. Most guys seem to be getting better times at the track in 4X4 because of the better traction. If you are feeling more snap and more tire burn, than the chip is,in fact, adding to your truck's performance. You will see it more on the highway than you will on the track. The only way to get better times in 2wd is to work on your traction - slicks maybe.
