You are correct. Even on a 4x4 switching between 2WD and 4WD you will typically see a slowing of about 2 tenths in 4WD because of the added frictional losses when the transfer case and other guts are switched on. Add to that a true 2WD RCSB will weigh 100-200 lbs less. All of this assumes the 2WD can get traction off the line though.
