The most obvious reason is because your AFR was at 15.1:1 with the Unichip and around 12:1 stock.

It is generally accepted that the target AFR for maximum torque is around 12.5:1. Of course all engines are different and will need to be fine tuned to find their "sweet spot". But, it's always richer than stoichiometric (14.7:1). The bottom line on your pull was that there was a surplus of oxygen in the cylinder that more fuel could have been burned with.

It'd be helpful to see the AFR that Ryder276 ended up with after his custom tune.

I wish you luck, man. I'd be pissed about a $600 box that needed a $300 custom tune to work right.
