I spent my Saturday afternoon addressing rust at all the weld joints on the frame including the rear suspension mounts and got great results.

After removing the loose stuff w/ a brush I used POR-15s Metal Ready liquid per the directions, sprayed it on and kept it wet for > 30 minutes. Washed it off w/ the hose and let it dry, leaving a zinc phosphate surface and the rust chemically neutralized. After drying, I spray painted with Krylon semi-flat rust stopper paint.

I'll be cleaning and painting my rear differential housing next, that sucker's nasty.

It looks like new, no more rust and very unlikely it'll return.
