I was chatting with the guy who was washing my truck, and I mentioned that my wife had wanted the teflon coating the dealership offered to us for only 2 or 3 dollars more a month. The service guy was drying my truck and he said that with teflon he can see it reflect hazy, and he didnt see anything on my paint. He told me I should have it checked out. How do you have someone test for a teflon coating? And where? I will be EXTREAMLY irritated if they are charging me for something they didnt put on. Especially considering I had to take it back to the dealership and leave it for the day, so they could take it somewhere to get the Teflon applied and Scotch Guard the interior.

edit~ color is white, 7 months old, only been hand washed with Zymol liquid car wash.
They probably *did* put it on. But to be honest I don't know that it is worth what it cost you. You can't tell when teflon is on the vehicle other than the fact that it's pretty slick. But other products can give the same result. It's probably a premium product that they put on but it's got an even more premium price.

I use a dealer product like that and it works well, but it's VERY expensive and is only sold because it hides behind the "mystery sauce" type of hype. (But it does work well.....)

If you use some of the products on this site (buy it from them or not) you'll be very happy with the result.

At the very least, go there for the education in car detailing an treatment.

You can get aftermarket products that does what your dealers does for a lot less. Much of this is available locally if you look around and really know what's in your area.

(well, unless you're in the middle of no where.....)
