I have not tried this yet, but I may give it a shot just to see the difference. But for those of you have troubles with some of the disks failing and other working using the exact same steps, here is a suggestion.
When you are ready to burn the ISO image onto the new DL DVD, change your write speed to the lowest possible (Probably 2x). This seemed to fixed any of my problem when making backup copys of my regular DVD movies. It just seems to write the data to the disk better, and less of a chance to catch a skip in the writing process.
If this doesn't help, just tell me to shut up.
