We did Thanksgiving last weekend with friends who are gonna be working from Tomorrow through the weekend. Previously I hadn't picked apart a turkey...I'm guessing I got three or four pounds off the bird after we'd carved it for dinner. That's gonna make some kickass soup.
My g/f makes the best mashed potatoes. They look like something made from potato flakes they're so creamy, but they're all done from fresh taters and elbow grease, with milk and a lot of unsalted butter. The mashed potatoes are usually the largest pile on my plate.
I usually make mac n cheese from a box
. But I found a good recipe the other day for a homemade version, I think there was milk & flour over the noodles for a base, and then add grated cheese to texture & taste. I wanna try it with some good smoked cheddar.
