Excellent reply Muddog715! I agree with you 100%...it's very,very hard for a "cheap bolt-on" part to provide "magical" gains in torque and HP. So much is simply "perception", as you describe with your Honda example. I had an old VW water-pumper and it always felt like it was frantically fast...lots of noise and so forth. Reality was a lot different. I believe the Toyota engine folks did a great job on the V8, and it would be somewhat of a surprise that a third-party vendor could make a simple part that would dramatically add performance.
Although, if I had all the $$$ in the world, I'd love to pull the V8 and tear it down. Fully balance and blueprint it. Where possible, replace anything that moves with lighter parts. Flow the heads and exhaust. Maybe someday.
