Should I stick with stock parts or go with aftermarket?

Any suggestions on which aftermarket product I should choose?

Thank you.
On the alternator, have whatever went bad replaced...ideally with N-D or Borg Warner Select parts. Auto Master on Fairbanks in Winter Park has done some work for me. There's also a rebuilder down town. You could visit the Central Auto Parts downtown (it's now Car Quest, but it's pretty much the same guys) and ask them for the information...they had that downtown source rebuild a very hard to find Nissan alternator for me.

On the water pump, Toyota only...don't even bother with anything else, unless you just like doing the timing belt for the heck of it.
