Whatever you set your heart to do, put all of yourself into it. Don't get too distracted by -- well whatever. Get used to living as if you were poor, and when the returns start rolling in, don't just spend. Put away half of every penny you earn, invest in yourself, and it isn't hard to end up ahead.
I see the people who were "ahead" of me in terms of the newest, best, and brightest now struggling to survive. That's what happens when you live like a grasshopper.
