On my 2000 that I just sold, it was obvious that it would have some issues down the road - especially on rear shock mount towers. And I have been very faithful to wash underneath since I bought it new. This is another ding in Toyota's reputation, I'm afraid.

MAINE HERE:
My OO TRD was purchased in Arizona new, and has been to Florida for two years, and now in New England for four years...
I spent two days under my truck in the fall de-rusting the frame, and painting for the winter with a black rust paint as a precaution to more rust this winter.
When I showed the dealer up here in Auburn Maine he almost snarled at me for bringing it up...ONLY TACOMA's he hissed at me...I wont be back to that dealership for sure!
WE NEED TO BAN TOGETHER and get Toyota's attention on this for sure oif we want some action! I do not want a Buy Back, but some help with preventing more damage would do, or some parts like the replacable shackles, removable joints etc!
Sound off on this issue !
