My 03 AC was purchased (June) in Minot, ND. I had the optional undercarrige sprayed with the anti-rust/noise reduction film/coating. It looks like bed
liner spray, but it is thinner/smoother. The truck and I had our way (lots of fun) in Canada, Montana, SD, Wyoming, and Minnisota all during snowy months. At every check-up/maintenace the undercarrige was checked and no sign of rust yet. I am currently in the dry desert climate (NM). I'm not sure if any of the snowy states we visited used salt or a salt mixer for de-icing, but mine is fine. I'LL take some pics and post. Good luck to all in danger...
