Do these have trans dipsticks on them?
I usally drain and refill 2x a year.
How about oil specs on the 1.8 and 2.4?
Model year '09 &'10.
Thank you.
I have owned a 08 5-sp. corolla CE for over a year now, and we really like the mileage ( 30/42 ). I actually like them better than the 07 camry we had as a free rental a while back. The camry feels too wishy washy on the freeway to me, and the mileage wasn't as good as expected.

No trans dipsticks, they are completely sealed transmissions and only need to be serviced at 100k miles. I don't like this either to tell you the truth, but what can we do? It's a PITA to service it yourself, but not impossible. They must take either WS toyota fluid or Redline D-6.
This is one reason we went with the 5-speed, cause i can run Amsoil MTG in the diff plus do it myself. Less money and 2 mpg diff. was the other reasons.
I beleive both engines spec a 0w/20 or 5w20. My experience has been some consumption issues with the 20w, so i won't be running it again. The oil cap says 5w30 anyway. Some 09 owners have experienced the same thing.
I beleive the 09's and up use a canister oil filter on the 1.8L. Don't know about the 2.4L, but i'd imagine it's a regular spin on.

I actually kind of like the corolla; it's kind of boring after a while, and there's nothing special about it. But it's a great little car at the same time.

I paid $15 OTD a year ago with PW,PL,PM,CZ,CD,AC and undercoating.
