My friend's Black Cherry 07 FJ is chipping bad too....Rocker panels,around the wheels,inside the door and tailgate,and,get this...THE FREAKIN ROOF RACK!!Not to mention the windshield that has 6 small cracks...The guy lives in the downtown core,he travels only paved roads for 95% of his trips,and he hauls a camper that is colormatched to his FJ and not one paint chip on the trailer.
He's taken it to his dealership and said they were aware of the problem,but that the corporate office denied it completely...They (his dealership) are offering him a new paint job at 25% of the cost,so 75% off.
They said they didn't have to,but since he purchased many vehicles from that same dealer in the past,they were doing it as a courtesy....
In looking at the problem on the net it seems that TOYOTA CANADA seems to be a little more dilligent in their customer service than in the states.....
I'll keep you updated after the new paint job....
