I second the motion from PuffnStuff. Definitely check everything out first to see if you have any existing leaks that may be made worse (or just more noticeable) by the synthetic. I started running Quaker State Q Torque Power 5W-20 and using a K&N oil filter in mine at 20,000 miles when I started all the mods to the motor. I change oil every 5000 miles on the dot and have had no issues whatsoever. I think it's worth the cost difference to help protect my motor with all the stop/start driving I do and the additional power added. If you don't do a lot of stop/start driving and have a stock motor, it may not be worth the difference to you--look at all the older cars still running from the sixties and seventies that never had synthetics...
